On September 8, Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) Wey brand released the official images of its Wey 07 plug-in hybrid SUV for the overseas market. The corresponding model of this car in the Chinese domestic market is the Wey Lanshan. The Wey 07 pre-order will open on September 13 and the launch will be on October 7.
For reference, the official price range of the Wey Lanshan Intelligent Driving Edition is 299,800 – 326,800 yuan (42,300 – 46,100 USD).
For the exterior, the Wey 07 is consistent with the Wey Lanshan and has the same dimensions: 5156/1980/1805 mm with a 3050 mm wheelbase.
However, the Wey 07 adopts a different 20-inch rim style that is denser and does not offer the Canglangqing exterior paint and roof lidar that the Wey Lanshan Intelligent Driving Edition has. For reference, the Canglangqing is the cyan color revealed by the refraction of sunlight on waves, according to the official.
Power comes with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and dual electric motors, with a total power of 517 hp (386 kW) and a total torque of 930 Nm, which is comparable to the domestic version. The 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 4.9 seconds and the top speed is 190 km/h. In addition, the 42.5 kWh battery pack provides a NEDC pure electric cruising range of 201 km.
Coming to the cockpit, there is a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch central control (for comparison, the domestic version’s dimension is 15.6 inches). The Wey 07 does not come with a co-pilot entertainment screen and there are also physical buttons under the central control screen, unlike the domestic version. The steering wheel style is the same as the standard Wey Lanshan DHT-PHEV (see specs here).
In addition, the Wey 07 offers steering wheel heating, three-zone air conditioning, a 16-speaker audio system, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist, to just name a few.
The interior adopts a 2+2+2 six-seater layout, which is the same as the domestic version. The first- and second-row seats are equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. At the same time, the second-row seats come with a small table.
In the first eight months of 2024, GWM’s cumulative sales were 745,400 vehicles, and its overseas cumulative sales were 280,100 vehicles. Specifically, in August, GWM’s overseas monthly sales exceeded 40,000 vehicles.
