Avatr 07 has officially launched in China, with six models available and a starting price of 219,900 yuan (31,400 USD). The Avatr 07 is positioned as a mid-size SUV available in fully electric (BEV) and range-extended (EREV) versions. It is also the first model to feature the Kunlun range extender system. The vehicle has several innovative features, including Huawei‘s Qiankun ADS 3.0 autonomous driving system and the HarmonyOS 4.0.

The EREV uses the Kunlun range extender system with a 1.5T engine and electric motor setup. The two-wheel-drive version offers 231 kW, while the four-wheel-drive version adds a 131 kW front motor. The battery, a 39.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate unit, offers a range of 230 km for the two-wheel-drive model and 220 km for the four-wheel-drive model.

The BEV version provides two powertrain options: a two-wheel-drive with 252 kW and a four-wheel-drive model with a 252 kW rear motor and a 188 kW front motor. The CLTC range is 650 km for the two-wheel-drive model and 610 km for the four-wheel-drive version.

The Avatr 07 features an all-aluminum dual-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension with a cast aluminum full-frame subframe. It also offers several driving modes and adjustable air suspension.

The Avatr 07 follows the “Future Elegance” design philosophy, featuring a distinctive front end and a more striking design than its sibling models, the Avatr 11 (see specs) and 12 (see specs). The vehicle is available in five colors: Black, White, Grey, Green, and Purple. The front incorporates a HALO interactive screen, an LED display with 10,500 light beads that stretches across the vehicle’s front. The electric version also includes an active grille to improve aerodynamics.

The car’s dimensions are 4825 mm long, 1980 mm wide, and 1620 mm high, with a 2940 mm wheelbase. It is equipped with either 20 or 21-inch wheels and a traditional rear window design, distinguishing it from the Avatr 12, which lacks a rear window. The vehicle’s storage capacity includes a 90L front trunk and a rear cargo space that ranges from 500L to 1325L. Hidden compartments under the rear cargo floor offer an additional 60L of storage.

Inside, the Avatr 07 emphasizes luxury, offering a cabin with up to four screens: a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 35.4-inch 4K display for rear passengers, and two optional 6.7-inch screens for digital side mirrors. The vehicle features Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.0, zero-gravity massage seats, a 25-speaker sound system, and an electric sunshade.

Changan confirmed that Avatr operates independently, with plans for a market listing and strategic partnerships. In August, Avatr delivered 3,712 vehicles and acquired a 10% stake in Huawei’s InnoVision. The company plans to launch range-extended Avatr 11 and 12 versions by year-end and introduce 17 new models within three years. It aims for global expansion to 50 countries by 2025 and targets 500,000 annual sales by 2030.
