On September 27, Geely and Jameel Motors (International) announced the signing of an agreement for the distribution of Farizon new energy commercial vehicles covering 11 countries and 450 million people.
Under the terms of the agreement Jameel Motors (International) will focus on the distribution of new energy vehicles under the Farizon brand including electric, hybrid, hydrogen, and methanol vehicles. The agreement covers distribution in new and select markets, which have a combined population of over 450 million.
Farizon was established in 2016 and is a subsidiary of Geely that manufactures commercial vehicles. Its product lines include light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses. These are all new-energy vehicles, including fully electric and methanol-powered ones, such as the M100 truck launched in 2019.
Jameel Motors (International) is a distribution company founded in Saudi Arabia in 1945. Its operations currently cover countries including Algeria, China, Egypt, India, Japan, Morocco, Monaco, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye. It has been a distributor for Toyota since 1955 and operates with Lexus, Ford, BYD, MG Motor, GAC Motor, Renault, Peugeot, Hino, Mitsubishi Motors, and Changan.
Jameel Motors (International) has what it terms a technology-agnostic strategy. This strategy drives both expansion and diversification of its product portfolio to meet evolving customer demand across key global markets while accelerating the business’s international growth trajectory. The deal with Farizon helps the dealership brand meet the growing demand for greener New Energy Vehicles (NEV), such as hydrogen, methanol, and electric.
Jameel Motors has 600 sales points over eight international markets spanning the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Asia.
