BYD Xia MPV interior revealed in official images before premiere

The BYD Xia minivan revealed its interior in China with four screens. Its styling is similar to the Denza Z9 GT wagon from the biggest NEV maker. BYD will display the Xia MPV at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024 on November 15. It adopts the DM 5.0 powertrain.

The BYD Xia plug-in hybrid minivan was first revealed at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 30. In late September, BYD dealers started taking reservations for this model for 2,000 yuan (280 USD). Its price range is 289,800 – 350,000 yuan (40,250 – 48,600 USD). BYD announced the Xia MPV will be displayed at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 15.

The Interior of the BYD Xia stays in line with the cabin design of the Denza Z9 GT. Its center console adopts a three-screen layout with a large suspended display for the driver and an independent touchscreen for the front passenger. The BYD Xia has a three-spoke steering wheel.

The center tunnel of this minivan adopts two wireless phone charging pads, a block of physical buttons, and two cup holders. There is a spacious compartment under the center tunnel. The gear shifter of the BYD Xia most likely sits behind the steering wheel.  

The armrest of the BYD Xia has a small touchscreen. It looks similar to the refrigerator control block of the Denza Z9 GT. So, the Xia minivan has a cooling and heating storage box in the armrest.

There is no information about the interior layout of the BYD Xia minivan. Previously, we have covered spy shots of its cabin. It adopts a seven-seat interior with a 2 + 2 + 3 layout.

BYD Xia specs

The BYD Xia minivan adopts a distinguishing styling language with a large trapeze-shaped grille and elongated headlights. This MPV boasts hefty dimensions of 5145/1970/1805 mm with a wheelbase of 3045 mm. For clarity, it is 105 mm shorter than the BYD’s flagship minivan Denza D9.

The BYD Xia will adopt the DiPilot ADAS system and the DiLink 150 cockpit system. Its suspension adopts a DiSus-C electromagnetic system with adjustable softness. The BYD Xia adopts a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for 115 kW (154 hp). Its electric motor provides up to 200 kW (268 hp). The Xia minivan has a 20.4-kWh LFP battery for 80 km of electric range. The Xia MPV has a fuel consumption of 6.5 L/100km.

  1. BYD’s dashboard design is getting boring. Across all range, a slab of piano black panel, low centrally located air-vents. The design look all the same. Speaking of which the Seal pre-facelift had a dashboard design of its own model character until post-facelift the same boring design. Come BYD, you can do better?

  2. As a pedestrian and cyclist that front grill looks terrifying.

    If hit a speed you’re dead. If hit a slow speed you’re not going to be protected by a crumple zone on top of the hood, you’re going to be dragged under this monster, but the air dam seems less than 5″ above the road.
