Recently, the Chinese MIIT revealed the Xiaomi YU7 AWD’s battery specs and cruising ranges. The YU7 is Xiaomi’s first SUV model and is expected to enter the market in June or July this year to compete with the Tesla Model Y, offering both RWD and AWD. The starting price may be around 250,000 yuan (34,500 USD).
The maximum power of the front and rear electric motors is 220 kW (295 hp) and 288 kW (386 hp), respectively, matched with ternary lithium battery packs. Three CLTC cruising ranges were exposed, namely, 750 km, 760 km, and 670 km; and the corresponding power consumption per 100 km is 14.9 kWh, 14.8 kWh, and 16.6 kWh, respectively. All three trims have a curb weight of 2405 kg. The top speed is 253 km/h.
At this time, the range data of the RWD has not yet been announced. For reference, the maximum power of the rear electric motor is 235 kW (315 hp), matched with lithium iron phosphate battery packs. The top speed can reach 240 km/h.
The Xiaomi YU7 has a body size of 4999 mm long, 1996 mm wide, 1600 mm tall, and a 3000 mm wheelbase. Judging from the spy shots, the tail label suggests that Xiaomi may launch multiple trims including the standard, Pro, and Max trims. Additionally, the roof lidar indicates the YU7 will continue to be equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed assisted driving system.
Furthermore, based on the interior spy shot, the cockpit features an ultra-wide screen.
In January, the delivery volume of the Xiaomi SU7 – YU7’s sister model, exceeded 20,000 units again for four consecutive months. The automaker also added 16 stores last month, and now has 216 stores in 64 cities across China. In 2025, Xiaomi’s annual delivery target is 300,000 vehicles, enlisting help from the YU7.
