Chinese NEV startup delivery ranking in Jan 2025, HIMA: 34987, Xpeng: 30350, Xiaomi: 20000+, Nio: 13863

As January wrapped up in 2025, Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startups subsequently announced their monthly delivery performance. Let’s take a look below at the brands that already shared their data publicly.

HIMA delivered 34,987 vehicles, claiming the first on the list so far. Specifically, 12,483 Aito M9s were delivered, ranking first in luxury car sales above the 500,000 yuan (69,000 USD) price segment in the Chinese market for 10 consecutive months. The new Aito M7 had 8,443 units delivered, the Aito M5 had 910 units, the Luxeed R7 had 11,420 units, the new Luxeed S7 had 1,088 units, and the Stelato S9 had 643 units. In 2025, HIMA aims to sell one million vehicles annually.

Xpeng delivered 30,350 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 268%. So far, Xpeng has delivered more than 30,000 vehicles for three consecutive months. In particular, the Xpeng Mona M03 has delivered more than 15,000 units for two consecutive months and the cumulative delivery of the Xpeng P7+ has exceeded 20,000 units in two months since its launch.

Li Auto’s performance has been consistent among NEV startups. In January, the automaker again made it to the top three with 29,927 vehicles delivered, bringing its cumulative delivery volume to 1,163,799 vehicles. It is worth pointing out that the Li L6’s cumulative delivery volume has exceeded 200,000 units, making it the best-selling EREV in China for seven consecutive months.

To continuously boost its sales, Li Auto will launch a new pure electric SUV series in 2025 named the “i” series, consisting of four models, in which two of the four will enter the market in 2025. Furthermore, Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, previously revealed that the automaker is expected to achieve L3 autonomous driving in 2025 and launch the first car defined for L4 autonomous driving three years later.

For Xiaomi, its SU7 had delivered more than 20,000 units again for four consecutive months. For 2025, Xiaomi has an annual delivery target of 300,000 units.

Lastly, let’s not forget Neta, who fell into crisis at the end of 2024, has not yet announced its delivery situation.
