Xpeng Mona SUV renders.

The renders of the upcoming SUV from Mona were revealed by Chinese automotive blogger 拉面师傅. Xpeng plans to launch a new SUV in the second half of the year.

Mona is an entry-level series under Xpeng. It sells only one model, an all-electric Mona M03 sedan, launched in August last year. The mid-size sedan starts at 119,800 yuan (16,500 USD).

The second car in the Mona series will be a mid-size SUV, reportedly to replace the discontinued Xpeng G3. The unofficial codename is Mona G03. As the price war is about to continue this year in China, CarNewsChina expects the starting price of the new Mona SUV to be about 10,000 yuan higher than the M03 sedan, making it a 130,000 yuan (18,000 USD) SUV.

In February last year, Xpeng’s CEO announced a massive model offensive, with 30 new or refreshed models launching in the next three years. Regarding Xpeng’s main brand, in 2025, we can expect:

  • Xpeng G5 compact SUV (F62 codename)
  • Xpeng G7 large SUV (F01 codename)
  • Xpeng H01 massive SUV (H01 is the codename)

When it comes to sedans, Xpeng will launch in 2025:

  • New generation Xpeng P7 mid-size sedan
  • Xpeng P9 massive sedan (E29 codename)

Regarding the Mona series, its third car will be a smaller compact SUV to be launched in 2026.

Moreover, Xpeng reportedly plans to launch a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of some of its all-electric models. That would be a new milestone for Xpeng, which produces only all-electric cars.

Xpeng sold 30,350 EVs in January, up 267.9% from 10,668 units last year. This surpasses even the long-time leader, Li Auto. Nearly half of the sales were attributed to Mona M03, which sold over 15,000 units.

Xpeng didn’t officially reveal its 2025 sales target, but analysts expect it will be around 400,000 units, more than double the 190,068 units sold in 2024.
