Update on March 15 08:00 Chinese time: the new trim level of the Xiaomi YU7 with 770 km range was revealed in China while its battery specs were previously exposed by the Chinese regulator.

China’s MIIT has exposed the Xiaomi YU7. The model submitted to MIIT features a 96.3kWh battery pack with three range options: 770km, 760km, and 675km. This is the first time the 770km range option has been shown. It is set to launch between June and July this year, The starting price may be around 250,000 yuan (34,500 USD).

The new vehicle continues Xiaomi‘s automotive family design language, with an overall shape leaning toward a sporty crossover SUV. Specifically, the front fascia features the brand’s signature “teardrop headlights,” while the front bumper design maintains high consistency with the Xiaomi SU7.

Moving to the side profile, the new car adopts a low-drag design similar to the Xiaomi SU7, while semi-concealed door handles, frameless exterior rearview mirrors, five-spoke wheels, and yellow brake calipers all follow the design lineage of the SU7. Regarding dimensions, the new vehicle measures 4999/1996/1608mm (l/w/h) with a wheelbase of 3000mm.

At the rear, the new car likewise continues many classic design elements from the Xiaomi SU7, such as the sporty ducktail spoiler and the highly recognizable “halo taillights.” Notably, the new vehicle is also equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. Interestingly, among the configuration options, we also see versions without LiDAR, suggesting that purely vision-based autonomous driving solutions may be offered in the future.

For the interior, the new car does not employ a traditional instrument panel design, nor does it continue the flip-style instrument panel of the Xiaomi SU7. Instead, it boldly adopts a distant ultra-wide screen design. This design not only breaks the limitations of traditional in-vehicle displays but also provides drivers with a completely new visual experience, making the interior space appear more technologically advanced. According to reports, this screen can display information such as remaining range, speed, multimedia, and navigation.

In terms of powertrain, the new vehicle is purely electric with single or dual motor options available. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version features front and rear motors with maximum power outputs of 220kW and 288kW respectively, for a combined output of 508kW (691 horsepower) and a top speed of 253km/h, paired with ternary lithium batteries.

The lower-powered all-wheel-drive version has front and rear motors with maximum power outputs of 130kW and 235kW respectively, for a combined output of 365kW. The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version delivers a maximum power of 235kW with a top speed of 240km/h and is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery.

Previously, Xiaomi YU7 also revealed the 101.7 kWh ternary NMC battery pack. It has three range variants: 670 km, 750 km, and 760 km.
