Dongfeng eπ008 Smart Driving Edition launched, priced 25,500-28,300 USD

Dongfeng has officially launched the eπ008 Smart Driving Edition crossover on March 14th. The new vehicle comes standard with advanced intelligent driving capabilities across its entire range, offering a total of eight models in five-seat and six-seat configurations. The price range is set between 183,600-203,600 yuan(25,500-28,300 USD).

 Dongfeng eπ800 is a middle-to-high NEV brand founded by Dongfeng to take on rivals from Aito, Li Auto, and Luxeed. Its pronounce is “Yipai”(奕派). Currently, its model line comprises just two vehicles. As a result, the eπ’s sales volume isn’t high with cummulative sales volume of 52,473 units (March 2024 – February 2025), according to China EV DataTracker.

The Dongfeng eπ008 Smart Driving Edition adopts a pure vision-based intelligent driving solution, providing features such as high-speed NOA, memory parking, and fusion parking. It also includes active safety features like forward and rear collision warnings, lane departure warnings, and blind-spot monitoring.

In terms of exterior design, the Dongfeng eπ008 Smart Driving Edition retains the design language of the existing model. It features a closed-off front fascia paired with a continuous light bar, creating a futuristic visual effect. The rear also incorporates a continuous taillight design, echoing the front and enhancing overall recognition. Regarding dimensions, the new vehicle measures 5002/1972/1732 mm (l/w/h) with a wheelbase of 3025 mm.

Inside, the new car is equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen and an 8.8-inch instrument panel, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 vehicle-mounted chip. The interior features two wireless charging pads and a 20-speaker sound system. For seating, the new model offers both 5-seat and 6-seat versions, equipped with ventilation, heating, and memory functions.

Regarding powertrain options, the Dongfeng eπ008 Smart Driving Edition offers both range-extended and pure electric versions. The range-extended model is equipped with a 1.5L range extender with a maximum power of 108 kW and a maximum torque of 210 Nm. Its drive motor has a maximum power of 200 kW and a maximum torque of 340 Nm. Under CLTC conditions, it achieves a pure electric range of 210 km and a combined range of up to 1300 km, with a fuel consumption of 4.7L/100km when the battery is depleted. The fast charging time is 0.43 hours.

The pure electric version is driven by a single motor with a maximum power of 200 kW and a maximum torque of 340 Nm. It has a CLTC-rated range of 636 km, and the fast charging time is 0.47 hours.

Dongfeng eπ008 5-seater opened for pre-sale on October 25th last year.
