On May 23, Geely Galaxy’s latest A7 plug-in hybrid sedan was exposed by the Chinese MIIT that is expected to target the 100,000 yuan (13,900 USD) sedan market. The A7 is one of the two new models planned to be launched in 2025 by Geely Galaxy at the end of the second quarter or the beginning of the third quarter. The other model is the recently debuted Geely Galaxy M9.
Earlier on May 17, the Geely Galaxy A7 covered in camouflage was spied in China with slogans printed on the body including “the world’s lowest fuel consumption” and “2,100 km+ comprehensive range”. For the appearance, the front face is equipped with sharp headlights, a through-type light strip, and a polygonal vent at the bottom decorated with silver chrome trim. The rear features a through-type taillight group and a chrome trim decorated bottom.
The Geely Galaxy A7 has a length, width, and height of 4918/1905/1495 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2845 mm. Two curb weight options are available: 1,599 kg and 1,735 kg. Power comes from Geely’s NordThor EM-i plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine model BHE15-BFZ with a maximum power of 82 kW (110 hp), paired with lithium iron phosphate battery manufactured by CALB-Tech. The top speed is 190 km/h. At this time, other detailed powertrain parameters have not been revealed.
The optional configurations include window frame trim, roof spoiler, front radar, rear radar, front windshield camera, sunroof, door handles, and front grille. Three rim sizes are also available: 17-inch, 18-inch, and 19-inch.
In April, Geely Galaxy sold 96,632 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 281%, accounting for 41% of Geely Group’s monthly sales (234,112 vehicles), bringing its cumulative sales to more than 350,000 vehicles for the first four months of 2025. Currently, Geely Galaxy’s sedan lineup includes the Starshine 8, E8, and L6.
