The Geely Galaxy E8 launched in China with a starting price of 175,800 yuan (24,760 USD). Its top trim level has two e-motors for 475 kW, 620 km range, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.49 seconds. It is 12,200 yuan (1,700 USD) cheaper than during pre-sales. Let’s get to know the E8 better.
Galaxy was launched as a new energy series under the Geely brand last year. Now, it is positioned as an independent brand with its logo, website, and dealerships. It will comprise seven models by 2025. The third model under the Geely Galaxy brand is the E8 electric sedan.
Geely Galaxy E8 exterior
The Geely Galaxy E8 follows the design language of the Galaxy Light concept car. Its main features are thin headlights, a low beltline, and a long bonnet line. It also has a sleek roofline, retractable door handles, and aerodynamic wheel covers. The Galaxy E8’s drag coefficient reaches 0.199 Cd thanks to these styling elements. The only model with a better drag coefficient number is the recently unveiled Xiaomi SU7.
The Geely Galaxy E8 stands on the SEA platform, which underpins Zeekr, Smart, Volvo, Lotus, and other brands’ electric vehicles. Its benefits are weight distribution and handling. The Galaxy E8 has completed the moose test with 82-km/h speed. Anyway, this result still needs independent proof. It has a turning radius of 5.62 meters. It is also a great result for a sedan with dimensions of 5010/1920/1465 mm and a wheelbase of 2925 mm.
According to Geely, its safety faces the requirements of the IATF standards. The E8’s A-pillars have a rigidity of 1500 MPa. This vehicle was also tested by CATARC experts, meeting the NESTA (NEV Electrical Safety Verification) safety requirements.

Inside, the Geely Galaxy E8 has a 45-inch 8K OLED screen. A pleasing feature of this monitor is its thickness of just 10 mm. During the launch ceremony, Geely compared the Galaxy E8 with the BYD Han, hinting that their screen has better quality. It is quite unethical. However, the E8’s monitor stands out from the crowd.
This screen can connect to Meizu’s phones via the Flyme Connect system. Geely acquired Meizu in 2022. Flyme Connect is basically Geely’s answer to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Galaxy E8’s multimedia system is powered by a Snapdragon 8295 chip from Qualcomm. The Geely Galaxy E8 supports the NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) 2.0. It comprises adaptive cruise control, self-parking, etc. This system is guided by 11 satellites launched by Geely.
The steering wheel of the E8 has two spokes and a flat bottom. Its gear selector sits behind the wheel. The center tunnel of the Galaxy E8 has wireless charging pads and a hidden compartment. Other features of the E8 are AR-HUD and 12 Infinity speakers. The Geely Galaxy E8 has a trunk with a capacity of 420 L and a frunk for 53 L.

The entry-level Geely Galaxy E8 stands on the 400V platform. It has a single electric motor on the rear axle for 200 kW. Its zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 5.95 seconds. Its AWD version features the 800V platform. It has two e-motors on board for 475 kW. This version speeds up to 100 km/h in 3.49 seconds. For clarity, it is faster than the Porsche Taycan GTS. Its battery can charge up to 180 km of range in five minutes.
