The BYD Seal 06 DM-i plug-in hybrid station wagon has arrived at dealers across China ahead of the sales launch. This model features a 4.85-meter body, a 215-hp electric motor, and a maximum electric range of up to 83 km under CLTC conditions. The Seal 06 DM-i station wagon will enter the domestic market soon, with a potential global launch following shortly.

The BYD Seal 06 DM-i station wagon (SW) was first exposed by the Chinese regulator on March 19, revealing core specs. On April 23, this model made the first public debut at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025 as the first PHEV station wagon under the BYD brand. It was said that the Seal 06 DM-i will enter the market this year with an estimated price range of 110,000 – 150,000 yuan (15,320 – 20,890 USD).

The BYD Seal 06 DM-i SW arrived at Chinese dealers for display before the sales launch. We can see in a set of photos that the new car is finished in white. We may assume this is the top-trim station wagon as it has front parking radars, a surround-view camera system, roof racks, and R18 wheels. Other highlights of this model include the BYD’s tri-camera block behind the windshield and a sunroof.

The Seal 06 DM-i station wagon aligns with its sedan sibling in terms of exterior. There are two elongated headlights and an inverted trapeze-shaped grille in the car’s front end. The Seal 06 DM-i SW adopts a suspended roof design with blackened pillars. From the back, the new model adopts a single LED taillight strip, a small wiper, and a small roof spoiler. To optimize the drag coefficient, this station wagon adopts flush door handles.

The Interior of the BYD Seal 06 DM-i SW adopts a three-spoke D-shape steering wheel common for the BYD Ocean series cars. It has a floating screen and a small LCD instrument panel in the center console. The biggest difference between the Seal 06 DM-i sedan and the SW is the gear shifter. The new car has it installed on the steering column. Meanwhile, the sedan variant offers a center-tunnel-mounted retractable gear shifter.

The center tunnel of the Seal 06 DM-i station wagon has two wireless phone charging pads. The second row of this SW is in line with its sedan sibling. It has two air outlets and an armrest. This model’s rear seats can be split-folded down 6:4. The trunk offers a reasonable amount of space with a 12V power outlet and some hinges.

BYD Seal 06 DM-i SW specs

The BYD Seal 06 DM-i station wagon’s measures are 4850/1890/1505 mm with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. It is 15 mm wider and 10 mm higher than the sedan variant. The new SW rides on R17 or R18 wheels. Its curb weight lies in a 1,700 – 1,800 kg range.

The entry-level BYD Seal 06 DM-i station wagon offers a combination of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 74 kW (99 hp) engine and a 120 kW (161 hp) electric motor. The FinDreams-made LFP battery with a capacity of 10.08 kWh powers this system. This variant can run up to 53 km in EV mode under CLTC conditions.

The second trim of the BYD Seal 06 DM-i wagon adopts the same petrol engine paired with 160 kW (215 hp). This vehicle is powered by the 15.874 kWh LFP battery for 83 km.
