Vehicle architecture and exterior specifications

The Maextro S800 is built on a new modular platform referred to by the company as the “Xuanwu architecture.” According to Huawei and JAC, the body comprises 10 horizontal and nine longitudinal structural members, with a torsional stiffness rating of 53,300 N·m/deg. The vehicle is equipped with 13 airbags and a four-lock safety system.

Dimensions of the vehicle are 5,480 mm (length) × 2,000 mm (width) × 1,536 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. The manufacturer reports a drag coefficient of 0.206 Cd. Features include smart power-operated doors that utilize millimetre-wave radar and lidar to detect obstacles and adjust the door angle up to 77°. A lighting system projects a welcome pattern during entry.

Six colour options are offered, including four dual-tone finishes such as Dawn Gold/Black and Wildland Brown/Gold. The vehicle also comes with three optional wheel designs: “Sunshine,” “Moonlight,” and “Starlight.”

Powertrain configurations and performance

The Maextro S800 is available in two versions: pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric (EREV).

The EV models use an 800V high-voltage platform, a 97 kWh battery, and 5C fast charging, which the company claims supports a 10%–80% charge in 12 minutes. The reported CLTC range is 702 km, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is listed at 4.3 seconds.

EREV models are equipped with a 1.5-litre generator (115 kW output), a 65 kWh battery, and either a dual-motor (390 kW) or tri-motor (635 kW) powertrain. The EREV dual-motor version offers an electric-only range of 400 km and a total range of 1,333 km. The tri-motor version provides a 365 km electric range and a combined range of 1,200 km, with a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds.

The vehicle weighs approximately 2.6 tons and is equipped with a dual-chamber air suspension system, a front double wishbone suspension, and a rear five-link suspension, as well as multi-mode all-wheel steering. The braking distance from 100 km/h to 0 is listed as 34.5 meters.
