The Li i8 all-electric SUV officially revealed its interior in China with six seats and a ceiling-mounted screen. The brand’s first BEV crossover will start presales on July 17 domestically. Its market launch is scheduled for July 29.
The Li i8 was first revealed in China in February 2025 as a Tesla Model X rival with a three-row interior. Li Auto applied for a sales license for the i8 crossover on April 16, revealing its core specs. It is a large SUV with a body length above 3050 mm, a 4WD for 400 kW (536 hp), and up to 720 km of range under CLTC conditions.

On July 14, the Li Auto i8’s interior was spotted in China during road tests. The Chinese automaker reacted to this leak by sharing official images of this model on the next day. These photos revealed some nice features of the Li i8.
The Li i8 adopts a D-shaped four-spoke steering wheel with an integrated 4.82-inch touchscreen that partly acts as an instrument panel. Every modern Li Auto model adopts the same wheel. However, the i8 also offers bronze-plated trim on the wheel. The same bronze color covers steering column stalks, air vents, and center tunnel elements.
The center console of the Li i8 features a large infotainment system comprising two 15.7-inch screens. It is a distinguishing feature of modern Li Auto cars. The i8’s center tunnel adopts two wireless charging pads and a couple of cup holders. The gear shifter sits on the steering column. The steering wheel is power adjustable.
The second row of the Li Auto i8 adopts two independent captain chairs wrapped in perforated Nappa leather. The right passenger seat has an electrically adjustable leg support. Both seats have Type-C charging ports, adjustable armrests, soft pillows on headrests, and wide shoulder support. The i8’s rear doors boast sunshades, ambient lighting, and roomy compartments. The car also has a Li Auto Platinum Sound system. The third row of the i8 has two seats.

The Li i8 is a large SUV with sleek styling. It has a sloped bonnet line, a relatively low beltline, and slanted A-pillars. This model also has a LiDAR sensor on the roof, retractable door handles, and a single taillight strip in the rear end. The dimensions of the i8 are 5085 mm (length), 1960 mm (width), and 1740 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3050 mm. It is 48 mm longer than the Tesla Model X.
The Li Auto i8 comes standard with a dual-motor 4WD. Its front electric motor has a peak power output of 150 kW (201 hp). The rear e-motor generates 250 kW (335 hp). The total power output of the car’s system is 400 kW (536 hp). Its top speed reaches 180 km/h.
The entry-level Li Auto i8 has a 90.1 kWh ternary NMC battery from CATL (Jiangsu branch) or Sunwoda. The range is 670 km under CLTC conditions. The top-trim Li Auto i8 has a 97.8 kWh ternary NMC battery made by CATL on board. This pack is suitable for a 720 km range (CLTC).
As mentioned, the Li i8 will start presales on July 17. This car will have a price tag of around 350,000 yuan (48,830 USD).
