BYD’s FCB Tai 7 high-end version unveiled with God’s Eye B and vehicle-mounted drone dock
On July 17, BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) brand unveiled the official images of the high-end version of its Tai 7 hardcore off-road SUV. The car is expected to enter the market later this year, positioned between the Bao 5 and Bao 8, with a price of around 300,000 yuan (41,780 USD).



Currently, FCB has three models on the market: Bao 5, Bao 8, and Tai 3. The Tai 7 will be the brand’s fourth model.





The Tai 7 adopts the square shape design that’s commonly seem on hardcore SUVs, featuring thick bumpers, rectangular headlights, roof racks, double L-shape taillight group, and a small rear external box for additional storages. The tire specifications are 255/60R19, 255/55R20, 255/65R18, and 255/60R19.
Most notably, compared with the standard version, the lidar on the roof of the high-end version supports BYD’s “God’s Eye B” assisted driving system and consumers can also choose the vehicle-mounted drone system as an optional configuration.

The Tai 7 has body dimensions of 4999/1995/1865 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2920 mm, with a standard five-seater layout. Previously, three curb weights were revealed by the Chinese MIIT: 2,230, 2,390, and 2,480 kg. For reference, the Bao 8 has dimensions of 5195/1994/1905 mm, and a wheelbase of 2920 mm.
Previously, three powertrain versions were declared according to the Chinese MIIT, including two AWDs and one RWD, all utilizing a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine, electric motor(s), and BYD’s Blade battery packs. The maximum power of the 1.5T engine (model BYD472ZQB) is 115 kW (154 hp). The front (model TZ210XYC) and rear (model TZ200XSBN) electric motor each outputs 160 kW (215 hp) and 200 kW (268 hp), respectively.
At this time, the battery capacity and range details have not been revealed.


Furthermore, judging from the interior spy images, a large area is covered in black with an orange accent. The cockpit is equipped with a large central control screen and a four-spoke multi-function steering wheel.
