Geely Automobile will start presales of the updated EX5 electric crossover in China on July 24. This SUV sells domestically as the Geely Galaxy E5. The updated variant will boast two new colors and a bigger battery for up to 610 km of range.
The Geely Galaxy E5 entered the Chinese market on July 5, 2024. In a year, this model entered over 25 countries across the globe under the Geely EX5 name. Its domestic cumulative sales reached 130,715 units, according to China EV DataTracker. Geely International highlighted on July 4, 2025, that it sold 150,000 units of the EX5 worldwide. Soon, this electric SUV will be updated in China.
Geely EX5 update
The updated 2026 model year Geely EX5 got subtle exterior adjustments. The car has two new exterior colors: Dawn Blue and Evening Forest Green. Otherwise, its styling remained the same with sharp headlights, retractable door handles, and a single taillight unit. Dimensions of the updated Geely EX5 are 4615/1901/1670 mm with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
Moreover, the EX5 crossover will be available with a larger ShenDun (Aegis) battery pack for 68.39 kWh. It powers a single electric motor in the front axle for 160 kW (215 hp) and 320 Nm. This battery is suitable for 610 km of CLTC range. For comparison, the current EX5 is available with two battery options: 49.52 kWh for a range of 440 km and 60.22 kWh for a range of 530 km.


The updated Geely EX5 will start presales in China on July 24. The 2026 update will strengthen the car’s position in the highly competitive domestic market. Its price range has yet to be revealed. The current EX5 is priced between 107,800 and 179,800 yuan (15,020 – 25,050 USD).
There is no information about the updated Geely EX5’s overseas plans. However, a bigger LFP battery pack could help this model to enhance its positions outside China.
