The updated 2026 model year Geely EX5 electric crossover was launched in China with a starting price of 109,800 yuan (15,335 USD). It offers the same price and a longer range. The brand’s international sales driver boasts up to 610 km of CLTC range and 215 hp.

The Geely EX5 initially entered the Chinese market under the Galaxy E5 name on July 5, 2024. During the launch event, Geely Automobile highlighted that the EX5 became the brand’s international sales driver. It was launched in 35 countries around the globe. Moreover, the EX5 became the most exported BEV A-class crossover in China. Now, this SUV was updated in China.

Core updates of the Geely EX5

The biggest upgrade of the 2026 model year Geely EX5 is the range. The updated model got rid of the entry-level 49.5 kWh battery for 440 km of CLTC range. According to data provided by Geely, owners of this modification experienced a range of below 400 km. The 2026 model has two LFP battery variants: a 60.2 kWh for 530 km and a 68.4 kWh for 610 km. These are Geely-developed LFP batteries called ShenDun (Aegis).

While offering a longer range, the prices of the Geely EX5 remained the same. It costs between 109,800 and 145,800 yuan (15,335 – 20,360 USD) in China. For clarity, it underpins the BYD Atto 3 (Yuan Plus), priced between 115,800 and 147,800 yuan (16,170 – 20,640 USD). It is worth mentioning that the car got rid of its top-trim level that was priced at 179,800 yuan (25,100 USD). So, it has even become cheaper.

Geely Auto officials also highlighted that the suspension system of the 2026 EX5 was upgraded. Its damping performance was enhanced by 20%. Moreover, this crossover has two new exterior colors: Dawn Blue and Evening Forest Green. Otherwise, the Geely EX5 remained the same.

More specs of the Geely EX5

The Geely EX5 is a compact SUV aimed at urban mobility. Its dimensions are 4615/1901/1670 mm with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The entry-level car offers a 15.4-inch screen powered by Flyme Auto OS, six speakers, and a surround-view camera system. The flagship model has the L2 ADAS, heated, ventilated, and massaged front seats, an HUD, and 16 Flyme Sound speakers.

The Geely EX5 adopts a single electric motor in the front axle with a peak power of 160 kW (215 hp). Its zero-to-hundred acceleration time reaches 6.9 seconds. The top speed is 180 km/h. The car’s battery could be charged from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes at DC chargers.

The Geely EX5’s domestic cumulative sales reached 130,715 units, according to China EV DataTracker. Geely International highlighted on July 4, 2025, that it sold 150,000 units of the EX5 worldwide.
