The Arcfox T1 electric hatchback rolls off the production line in China on the eve of the presales start. The T1 manufacturer BAIC aims to elevate the Arcfox sales because the new model is positioned as a direct rival of China’s current bestseller, Geely Xingyuan.

Arcfox is a Chinese high-end electric vehicle brand founded by BAIC Bluepark in 2016. In 2018, Arcfox turned into a stand-alone company. In 2019, BAIC Bluepark and Magna finished the construction of the joint plant to manufacture Arcfox cars. The brand’s current model line comprises six cars.

According to China EV DataTracker, Arcfox sold 53,304 units in H1 2025. The Arcfox S5 sedan is the brand’s bestseller with 19,478 deliveries from January 1 to June 30. These aren’t significant numbers, judging by the standards of the vast Chinese market. To elevate Arcfox to the next league, BAIC got ready to launch the T1 hatchback. This model rolled off the production line in China.

On August 4, the first mass-produced Arcfox T1 hatchback rolled off the production line of the BAIC Bluepark Arcfox Magna manufacturing facility in Zhenjiang city, Jiangsu province. This plant’s highlights include a 97% automation rate, an R&D center, and a production capacity of 300,000 units annually.

The Arcfox T1 will become available for preorders later in August, with vehicles arriving at Arcfox stores around China. There is no information about the sales start date of the Arcfox’s latest model. CarNewsChina expects this vehicle to start sales shortly after the presales kick off with a starting price of around 70,000 yuan (9,710 USD).

The Arcfox T1 aims to become the brand’s bestseller as it will directly compete with China’s current sales champion, Geely Xingyuan. The latter model sold 204,940 units in H1 2024, surpassing the BYD Seagull and the Tesla Model Y.
