The Denza B8 full-size plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD was revealed in China as a new car for Africa and the Middle East. It is a sturdy off-roader that sells domestically as the Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 (Leopard 8). The Denza B8 will enter the overseas markets in the third quarter of 2025 to broaden BYD’s high-end brand’s model line.
BYD runs three high-end brands in China: Denza, Fang Cheng Bao (FCB), and Yangwang. However, the company’s international strategy includes the integration of FCB-branded models into Denza. It was previously confirmed that the FCB Bao 5 off-roader will enter Australia under the Denza B5 name. This SUV recently revealed that the second FCB model will also enter global markets as a part of Denza. It is the Bao 8 full-size three-row SUV.
Denza B8 unveiled for Africa and the Middle East
The Denza B8 was revealed at the BYD Zhengzhou factory in China during the 2025 Middle East and Africa Media Tour on August 1. The company brought around forty media representatives from Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the UAE, and Morocco. During the event, BYD representatives shared that they plan to launch several models in the Middle East and Africa in the third quarter of this year.

During the event, BYD officially revealed two crossovers: the Denza B5 and the Denza B8. The B5 SUV was previously seen in Australia during road tests. So, its debut wasn’t surprising. The car has a swing-out tailgate with a spare wheel mounted on it. The car has a LiDAR sensor on the roof and fog lights in the front bumper. Another highlight of the Denza B8 is blocky headlights joined by a thin LED strip.
The B8’s interior has two layout variants for seven and six seats. The car’s center console adopts three screens. There is a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel behind the steering wheel. The driver’s display has a diameter of 17.3 inches. The front passenger also has an independent 12.3-inch monitor. The B8 has a four-spoke steering wheel with a Denza logo on it. The center tunnel has a wireless phone charging pad and a sizable gear shifter.
