The M9 is derived from the Galaxy Starship concept shown at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and incorporates several of its design cues. At the front, a “Brilliant Galaxy” LED light bar connects the headlamps, while the roof houses a LiDAR sensor. The vehicle measures 5,205 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, making it only 4 mm shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Geely notes an in-cabin space utilisation of 88.3%. A dual-chamber air suspension provides ride height adjustment of up to 95 mm and is supported by continuous damping control.
Inside, the three-row 2+2+2 seating arrangement offers individual power-adjustable chairs with heating in all positions and ventilation plus massage in the first two rows. A 180 mm central aisle makes third-row access easier, while amenities include a ceiling-mounted 17.3-inch 3K monitor for rear passengers, a folding table, and a 9.1-litre refrigerator. Cargo volume is rated at 328 litres with all seats in place and expands to 2,171 litres when the second and third rows are folded. A 27-speaker Flyme Sound system provides audio.
The cockpit combines a 12.66-inch LCD instrument panel, a HUD, and a 30-inch touchscreen spanning the driver and front passenger. Wireless charging pads and physical controls are also fitted. The Flyme Auto 2 system, supported by the AI assistant Eva, manages navigation, entertainment, and cabin functions through voice or touch input.
The driver assistance package, known as G-Pilot H5 (Qianli Haohan H5), integrates 27 sensors, including LiDAR and is powered by dual Nvidia Orin X processors rated at 508 TOPS. Functions include door-to-door assisted driving, city Navigate on Autopilot without preloaded maps, and automatic emergency braking at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
Powertrain options are built around the EM-P Hybrid 2.0 system. A 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 120 kW works with three electric motors to deliver a total system output of 649 kW (870 hp) and 1,165 Nm of torque. The all-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Buyers can choose between two battery packs: an 18.4 kWh unit with 100 km electric range or a 41.5 kWh pack offering 210 km. In depleted battery mode, fuel consumption is rated at 4.8 litres per 100 km.
