BYD Seal 06 DM-i wagon to make European debut at 2025 Munich Motor Show
BYD Seal 06 DM-i wagon will be presented at the 2025 Munich Motor Show (IAA Mobility 2025) on September 8, according to D-Auto. The model is already available in China, with prices ranging from 109,800 yuan (approximately 15,400 USD) for the base 80 km Noble variant to 129,800 yuan (roughly 18,200 USD) for the 150 km Flagship trim.
The Seal 06 DM-i wagon is derived from the Seal 06 DM-i sedan and features a station wagon body style. It follows BYD’s “Marine Aesthetics” design language, with thin LED headlamps, an inverted trapezoid grille, hidden door handles, blacked pillars, and a full-width single taillight unit. The side profile includes a flatter roofline, larger rear-side windows, and a roof rack. The car measures 4,850 millimetres in length, 1,890 millimetres in width, and 1,505 millimetres in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790 millimetres and a drag coefficient of 0.284.
Practicality is a focus of the wagon. The trunk offers 670 litres of space, expanding to 1,535 litres with rear seats folded. The vehicle includes a built-in refrigerator with heating functionality and supports the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing it to act as an external power source.
The interior features a three-spoke steering wheel, floating central touchscreen, and column-mounted shift lever. Entry-level trims come with a 12.8-inch central screen, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, six speakers, six airbags, and heated and ventilated front seats. Higher trims include a 15.6-inch screen, eight speakers, seven airbags, and the DiSus-C damping body control system. Standard equipment also includes a panoramic camera system, multiple drive modes, an opening panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather seats, and VTOL capability.
All domestic models are equipped with BYD’s DiPilot 100 (“God’s Eye C”) driver assistance system, which combines 12 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and five millimetre-wave radars, supporting autonomous highway navigation. European configurations have not yet been confirmed.
The wagon uses BYD’s fifth-generation plug-in hybrid system. The entry-level 1.5-litre engine, paired with a 120 kW electric motor, produces 210 Nm of torque, accelerates to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, and consumes approximately 3.15 litres per 100 kilometres, offering an 80 km electric range from its 10.08 kWh LFP battery. Higher trims utilise a 160 kW motor with 260 Nm of torque, accelerating to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, achieving an electric range of 150 km on an 18.71 kWh battery, and consuming 4.25 litres per 100 km. Batteries can be charged from 30% to 80% in 25 minutes. Combined with a 65-litre fuel tank, the total driving range reaches approximately 2,000 kilometres.
While station wagons are less common than SUVs in China, new energy wagons have emerged in recent years, including the Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007 GT, Nio ET5 Touring, and Denza Z9 GT. BYD plans to bring the Seal 06 DM-i wagon to European buyers, expanding its plug-in hybrid offerings beyond China.
