The Xpeng G6 EREV fastback SUV revealed core specs in China as it applied for a sales license. This model will strengthen the brand’s entry into the highly competitive hybrid cars segment. The range-extended G6 has a single electric motor in the rear axle and a Changan-made ICE.
The all-electric G6 started domestic sales in June 2023. According to China EV DataTracker, Xpeng delivered 120,187 units of this model by August 2025. Last year, Xpeng announced it would enter the EREV segment with its Kunpeng EREV powertrain system. It was said to offer up to 430 km of range and 5C charging technology.
The first Xpeng-branded EREV model will debut in China this month as the hybrid variant of the X9 minivan. Later, the Chinese startup will introduce the EREV variant of the G7 to the market. On October 9, Xpeng filed its third range-extended vehicle. It is the G6 fastback SUV.
More about the Xpeng G6 EREV
The peng G6 EREV aligns with the BEV model in terms of exterior styling. It has a sloped front end with headlights integrated into the front bumper. This model has a distinguishing LED running lights strip, retractable door handles, and a sleek roofline. Dimensions of the G6 EREV are 4771/1920/1650 mm with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. It rides on two wheel options: R18 and R20.

The Xpeng G6 EREV adopts a single e-motor in the rear axle for 218 kW (292 hp). Its rated power is 110 kW (148 hp). The top speed reaches 202 km/h. Another important part of the powertrain is a 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE for 110 kW. It is the DAM15NTE engine, manufactured by Dongan Powertrain, a subsidiary of Changan. The G6 EREV has an EVE-made LFP battery on board. Its capacity has yet to be revealed. However, CarNewsChina expects this model to adopt a 55.8 kWh pack, similar to the previously exposed G7 EREV.

Previously, Xpeng mentioned that its EREV models will adopt a 5C charging system that can charge from 10 to 80% in ten minutes. In low-temperature environments down to -30°C, the charge time is 15 minutes and 20 seconds. The peak range of EREV models will reach 450 km. Other highlights of batteries include resistance to surface temperatures of 1,000 °C, 80-ton side pressure, and 2,000-joule impacts from underneath.
The Xpeng G6 will most likely be cheaper than its BEV counterpart, priced between 176,800 and 198,800 yuan (24,830 – 27,920 USD). A lower price tag would increase the G6’s competitiveness in the fierce Chinese market.
