Volkswagen‘s upcoming ID.UNYX 07 electric sedan has been spotted in regulatory filings submitted to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The vehicle, produced by Volkswagen Anhui, represents the second model in the company’s Unyx series for the Chinese market and the first to be built on Volkswagen’s new electrical architecture specifically developed for China.

According to the filings, the ID.UNYX 07 features larger dimensions than its predecessor, the ID.UNYX 06. The new model measures 4,853mm in length, 1,852mm in width, and 1,566mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,826mm, positioning it in the mid-size vehicle segment.

The exterior design maintains the ID.UNYX family’s styling language with sharp headlights, complemented by an exaggerated lower bumper. The ID.UNYX 07 will be available with three different wheel designs, fitted with either 235/50 R19 or 235/45 R20 tyres.

From the windshield looking inward, the vehicle appears to feature a flat-topped steering wheel, suggesting interior details that will differ from the ID.UNYX 06, though the integrated seats and large central control screen are expected to remain.

Currently, only a single-motor version has been registered, with a maximum power output of 170 kW (228 hp), matching that of the ID.UNYX 06. Dual-motor versions are anticipated to be added to the lineup at a later date. The vehicle will be equipped with CATL’s lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Other details.

Volkswagen plans to launch the ID.UNYX 07 in 2026, as part of a broader strategy that will see Volkswagen Anhui introduce three new models that year, including both SUVs and sedans, targeting key market segments in China’s competitive electric vehicle landscape.
