2026 Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition pre-orders open, featuring Huawei ADS 4+ and HarmonyOS Cockpit 5
Avatr announced the official pre-sale launch of the Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition, a refreshed version of its mid-to-large-sized sedan. The new model, available in six variants, is scheduled for launch on October 28.
The Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition maintains its family design philosophy. The most notable upgrade is the inclusion of four LiDAR sensors: one 96-line lidar in the front bumper, and three high-precision solid-state lidars located on the front fenders and rear bumper. This sensor suite powers the upgraded Huawei Qiankun ADS 4+ intelligent driving system.
The new Avatr 12 also boasts Parking Valet Assist (VPD) 2.0, along with new functions such as a “Vitality Wellness Cabin,” “In-situ Turn,” and “Master Drift Mode”.

Design and dimensions
The vehicle measures 5020mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1460mm (or 1450mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 3020mm. New “swirl-blade” wheels are now an option, and customers can still choose between traditional and electronic rearview mirrors.

The rear of the vehicle foregoes a traditional rear window, relying on a streaming media rearview mirror for visibility. An active retractable spoiler is also integrated into the rear.

Interior and infotainment
Inside, the instrument cluster is replaced by a 35.4-inch 4K integrated remote screen. For models equipped with electronic rearview mirrors, the sides of this screen display the mirror feeds, while the central portion shows driving information. The 15.6-inch central control screen remains, now powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS Cockpit 5. This system supports 5G connectivity, four-zone voice recognition, gesture control, facial recognition, remote control via a mobile app, an in-car biological monitoring system, and simulated engine sounds.

Beyond the four-LiDAR upgrade, all 2026 Avatr 12 models will come standard with a 25-speaker Meridian sound system. The Max/Ultra pure electric versions will receive an upgrade to the intelligent induction electric door set, while the Master pure electric version will feature a four-zone air conditioning system with water ion purification and a rear armrest screen.

Powertrain and range
The Avatr 12 continues to offer both extended-range (EREV) and pure electric (EV) powertrain options.
The EREV version features the Kunlun extended-range power system, utilizing a 1.5T engine as a range extender with a maximum power output of 115 kW. The electric drive motor delivers a maximum power of 231 kW (310 hp). The battery pack has been upgraded to a 52 kWh capacity, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 356 km and a combined range of 1270 km. For reference, the current model features a 39.05 kWh battery with a CLTC pure electric range of 245 km.
The pure electric version is available in both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. The rear-wheel drive variant offers a maximum motor power of 237 kW (318 hp) and a CLTC range of 755 km. The all-wheel drive model features front and rear motors with 165 kW and 237 kW respectively, for a total power output of 402 kW (539 hp) and a CLTC range of 705 km.
