Wuling launched a grumpy version of the Changan Lumin – Aishang A100C
The Wuling’s Aishang A100C electric city car was launched in China as the state-owned automaker goes upstream by introducing one more brand to a highly competitive domestic market. Despite being an independent product, the Aishang A100C looks like a grumpy version of the Changan Lumin. The new model starts at 39,800 yuan (5,590 USD).
Wuling is a participant of the SGMW (SAIC-GM-Wuling) joint venture. It is a mainstream Chinese automaker owned by Guangxi Automotive Group. Most people know Wuling for the Hongguang Mini EV, which became the world’s bestselling BEV in 2021. However, this is the product of the SGMW joint venture. Now, Wuling is trying to create its own successful car. It is the A100C.
More about Aishang A100C
The Aihang A100C is a small urban car with dimensions of 3285/1708/1550 mm and a wheelbase of 1,980 mm. It boasts a cute appearance with smooth lines, blackened pillars, and aerodynamic wheel covers. This model is also quite similar to the Changan Lumin city car launched in 2022. At first sight, they look like twin models. However, the Aishang A100C has a different size and a greenhouse.
Another distinguishing feature of the Aishang A100C is the headlights. Due to its unique shape, this BEV looks like a grumpy version of the mentioned Changan Lumin. Other A100C features include conventional door handles, an air intake in the front bumper, and circular taillights.
The car’s interior adopts a floating touchscreen and an LCD instrument cluster. The gear shifter sits behind the two-spoke steering wheel. This vehicle has no center tunnel to increase the space between the driver and the passenger. The A100C also has physical A/C controls and four seats with integrated headrests. The car’s trunk provides 106 liters as standard. With rear seats folded, its volume reaches 882 liters.
The Aishang A100C has a single electric motor in the rear axle for 35 kW (51 hp) and 83 Nm. It is powered by a Gotion-made LFP battery for 17.65 kWh. The electric range of the A100C reaches 220 km under CLTC conditions.

The Aishang A100C is available for purchase in four trim levels. The entry-level car costs 39,800 yuan (5,590 USD). For clarity, it is 2,000 yuan (280 USD) more expensive than the Changan Lumin, and 4,000 yuan (560 USD) more expensive than the new Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. It will be challenging for a newcomer to beat the long-time inhabitants of the segment. Prices of the Aishang A100C are as follows.
