A recent report from Yiche Ranking reveals that only three new energy vehicle (NEV) brands – Xpeng, Leapmotor, and Xiaomi Auto – are on track to meet their annual sales targets for 2025. The majority of other brands in the top twelve face significant hurdles in achieving their goals in the remaining two months of the year.
Xpeng has emerged as the frontrunner, having already surpassed its 2025 sales target. With a goal of 350,000 units, XPeng recorded 355,209 sales by the end of October, achieving a 101.5% completion rate. This makes Xpeng the only domestic brand to fulfil its annual target two months ahead of schedule.
Leapmotor is also on a strong trajectory, securing the second position in target completion. The company aimed for 500,000 sales in 2025 and has already sold 465,805 units by October, representing a 93.2% completion rate. Notably, Leapmotor broke its monthly sales record in October, exceeding 70,000 units, and currently holds the title of the top-selling NEV brand for the year.

Xiaomi Auto, with a target of 350,000 units, has delivered 306,184 vehicles, reaching an 87.5% completion rate. Unlike other automakers, Xiaomi Auto is grappling with a substantial backlog of orders. Its current monthly deliveries hover around 40,000 units due to production capacity constraints. However, with anticipated production increases, Xiaomi Auto is expected to see a significant boost in monthly sales.

The remaining brands ranked from fourth to twelfth are considerably behind, with none having reached the 83.3% sales target threshold by October. It is highly improbable that these brands will achieve their full-year sales objectives.
Despite the challenges in meeting overall targets, brands such as IM Motors, Voyah, and Nio have successfully launched several popular models this year. While their annual sales goals may remain out of reach, these brands have demonstrated substantial growth in sales volume.
