Reports have surfaced of unusually high resale prices for preorder allocations of the electric vehicle Zeekr 9X on the Chinese second-hand trading platform Xianyu, with premiums of up to 120,000 yuan (approximately 17,000 USD), reflecting high demand and extended delivery times for the full-size plug-in hybrid SUV. CarNewsChina has verified and investigated the issue. The official starting price of the Zeekr 9X is 465,900 yuan (around 66,000 USD), making the resale markup roughly 10-26 per cent above sticker price.

Chinese owner reports indicate that delivery times for the Zeekr 9X have been extended well beyond initial estimates. Early buyers were initially given delivery windows of 9 to 11 weeks. Still, current pre-order schedules now range from approximately 11 to 26 weeks, with many orders clustered at 11–14, 15–18, 19–22, or 23–26 weeks, depending on trim and production schedule. Some customers who placed orders in October and November have not yet received their vehicles, prompting complaints about the prolonged wait.

Similar resale activity has appeared around other high-end new-energy models, including the Xiaomi YU7, Aito M9, and Li Auto Mega, where order allocations rather than completed vehicles are traded at a premium. Listings show that some buyers are willing to pay higher prices to shorten delivery wait times, while others sell their confirmed orders for profit.

Resale premiums for the Zeekr 9X range from 50,000 to 120,000 yuan (approximately USD 7,100 to USD 17,000), particularly for the Hyper trim. Some domestic preorder units have also been exported through ports such as Horgos and Tianjin, where overseas buyers have paid reported markups of 50,000 to 100,000 yuan (7,100 to 14,200 USD). Order transfers are formally restricted under customer agreements, but such transactions continue to appear across trading platforms.

The Zeekr 9X, launched in September 2025, is offered in Max, Ultra, and Hyper trims. Official pricing ranges from 465,900 to 599,900 yuan (66,000 to 84,900 USD). The vehicle uses a 900-volt plug-in hybrid system with battery options of 55 kWh or 70 kWh. The Hyper trim is reported to deliver up to 1,030 kW (approximately 1,381 hp), a 0–100 km/h time of about 3.1 seconds, and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,250 km.

Industry analysts note that current premiums are tied to strong initial demand and limited early-stage supply. As production increases and delivery times shorten, the price gap between official orders and resale listings may narrow. The current markups indicate a temporary imbalance between demand and available production during the early phase of the Zeekr 9X launch.
