Updated Xpeng G6 & G9 entered China with ADAS for 2,250 TOPS

The updated 2026 model year Xpeng G6 and G9 crossovers entered China with the company’s latest ADAS tech for up to 2,250 TOPS. They support the second-gen Vision Language Action model and the latest AIOS 6.0 cockpit technology.

Potential customers of the updated Xpeng G6 and G9 can optionally equip their cars with Ultra SE or Ultra assisted driving systems. The Ultra SE system adopts two Xpeng-developed Turing AI chips for 1,500 TOPS. It costs 12,000 yuan (1,715 USD). For 20,000 yuan (2,860 USD), customers can choose the Ultra ADAS system with three Turing AI chips for 2,250 TOPS.

Ultra SE & Ultra systems are capable of automatic emergency steering (AES) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) at 130 km/h. The VLA model integrates visual perception, language understanding, and action generation with reasoning. It is said to allow Xpeng to quickly deliver a near L4 assisted driving experience.

Updated G6 and G9 also got the AIOS 6.0 cockpit that features a brand-new “Driving Light” design language and interaction improvements with more dynamic animations. The AIOS 6.0 supports 3D lane-level navigation. Xpeng officials claimed this is the industry’s first 3D navigation map that is usable all around China.

Briefly about the Xpeng G6

The updated Xpeng G6 is a fastback SUV with a sleek outline and dimensions of 4758/1920/1650 mm and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. It adopts a new Serene Blue interior color. Another highlight is the RNC active noise cancellation system.

The 2026 model year Xpeng G6 adopts a BEV powertrain with two battery options: 68.5 and 80.8 kWh battery options. They send power to a single electric motor for 218 kW (292 hp) and 450 Nm. The car’s range is 625 – 725 km under CLTC conditions.

The price range of the Xpeng G6 without Ultra SE and Ultra assisted driving systems lies between 176,800 and 186,800 yuan (26,270 – 27,000 USD).

Basics about the Xpeng G9

The updated 2026 model year Xpeng G9 could be distinguished by a new Moon Silvery body color. Otherwise, it remained the same with dimensions of 4891/1937/1670 mm and a wheelbase of 2,998 mm. The car adopts two 14.96-inch monitors and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster in the center console.

The Xpeng G9 adopts a BEV powertrain with an 800V high-voltage system. The entry-level model has a single e-motor for 258 kW (346 hp) in the rear axle powered by a 79 kWh battery for 625 km of CLTC range. There is also a long-range variant with a 93.1 kWh pack for 725 km of range. The AWD variant of the G9 adopts the same battery and two e-motors for 423 kW (567 hp).

The 2026 Xpeng G9 without Ultra SE and Ultra assisted driving systems costs 248,800 – 278,800 yuan (35,550 – 39,840 USD).
