The next-gen model will allow Xpeng to quickly deliver a near L4 assisted driving experience. The first batch of vehicles with the new VLA model will roll out in March.

Xpeng officials highlighted that the brand’s robotaxis equipped with the second-gen VLA software have passed third-party testing and are about to begin public road testing. Another worth noting Xpeng technology is the AIOS 6.0 cockpit that features a brand-new “Driving Light” design language and interaction improvements with more dynamic animations. The AIOS 6.0 supports 3D lane-level navigation. Xpeng officials claimed this is the industry’s first 3D navigation map that is usable all around China.

Other highlights of the system include intelligent voice interaction and a new game center jointly developed with Tencent Cloud Games. The AISO 6.0 supports Vision-Language models. It is powered by a SoC for 750 TOPS. As a result, it can recommend navigation routes, proactively activating defogging and lowering the volume. It also assists in replying to mobile phone messages.
