HIMA has released the latest teaser images for Saic’s second mass-produced model, the Z7, offering a more detailed look. While still partially veiled, the official renders showcase the Z7’s performance-oriented and sporty design.

The front fascia of the Saic Z7 features a largely enclosed design, with the illuminated Saic logo displayed at the top. Below, a trapezoidal air intake is visible, hinting at the likely inclusion of an active grille system for optimized aerodynamics and cooling.

The headlights are independently positioned and do not adopt a split-type configuration. At first glance, they evoke a resemblance to the Porsche Taycan, though with distinct details. The lamp housing incorporates a dot-matrix light source, characterized by dual short horizontal lines above a longer strip below. The car’s front end exhibits a forward-diving posture. Unlike the Luxeed S7, the Saic Z7 boasts a sufficiently long hood, aligning more closely with the aesthetic preferences of mainstream young consumers.

Along the side, the Z7 presents smooth and flowing lines, with an estimated overall vehicle length of around 5000mm. It features frameless side mirrors and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit that has been aerodynamically optimized for a smaller footprint and more seamless integration with the bodywork. The vehicle also incorporates a smart driving indicator light and semi-flush door handles.

The rear of the Z7 is particularly noteworthy for its “Star River” themed taillights. This design element has become a signature of the HarmonyOS Smart Driving family, previously seen only on 9-series models and the Maextro S800. Its debut on a 7-series vehicle underscores the importance Saic places on the Z7.

The Saic Z7 is primarily aimed at a younger demographic. While spaciousness may not be its strongest suit, it is designed to be adequate, prioritizing high aesthetic appeal, superior handling, and intelligent features. As the most affordable brand under HIMA, the Saic Z7 is positioned in the approximately 200,000 yuan (less than 30,000 USD) price range.
