WeRide and Geely aim to deliver 2,000 GXR robotaxis based on the Farizon SV minivan in 2026. They offer a length of up to 5,018 mm, a door opening of 1,831 mm, and over 20 sensors powered by a chip for 2,000 TOPS.

More about Robotaxi GXR
The Robotaxi GXR became one of the latest WeRide products created jointly with Geely’s commercial vehicle arm Farizon. It was launched in late 2024 as the robotaxi variant of the Farizon SV (Super Van). It began commercial operations in China, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. As of January 2026, WeRide’s Robotaxi fleet reached 1,023 vehicles. On March 8, WeRide introduced the updated variant of the Robotaxi GXR.

The new Robotaxi GXR adopts WeRide’s latest Gen8 autonomous driving system. It adopts a thousand-line LiDAR that increases the point-cloud resolution by 17 times. The detection range reaches 600 meters. According to WeRide, it is two to three times that of mainstream industry solutions. The longer detection range provides 70% more reaction time, enabling the GXR to detect small obstacles.
The Robotaxi GXR adopts the drive-by-wire chassis that reduces vehicle assembly time from one hour to under 10 minutes. Total vehicle cost is expected to decrease by another 15%. It is a benefit of the Farizon SV. This vehicle boasts a length of 5,018 mm, an interior cabin height of 1,340 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,100 mm.

The Robotaxi GXR has no passenger seat in the first row. The second row adopts two captain chairs with over 0.5 meters of legroom, while the third row offers over 0.4 meters. This minivan has sliding doors with an opening of 1,831 mm in width and 1,285 in height.
On March 8, WeRide and Farizon signed an expanded strategic cooperation agreement to deliver 2,000 units in 2026. WeRide expects its global operating Robotaxi fleet to surpass 2,600 Robotaxis this year. The long-term goal is to expand the robotaxi fleet to tens of thousands of vehicles by 2030.
