The updated Zeekr 009 luxury minivan provides up to 680 kW (912 hp) in China, the governmental regulator revealed. The new car applied for a sales license, revealing core specs. This variant could be officially revealed at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 in late April.
The Zeekr 009 is a high-end electric minivan from Geely. It was first launched in 2023 as the brand’s second model. This MPV initially adopted a 400V system, offering a dual-motor 4WD for 400 kW (536 hp). In 2024, the updated variant of the Zeekr 009 entered the market with an 800V high-voltage system and two powertrain variants. The first is FWD for 310 kW (416 hp), and the second is 4WD with a peak power output of 580 kW (778 hp). Soon, the new 009 will enter China with over 900 hp.
Updated Zeekr 009 specs
The updated Zeekr 009 was exposed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It remained the same in terms of exterior styling. The updated car has a large chrome-plated grille, distinguishing running light units, power rear sliding doors, and a LiDAR sensor in the roof. It is a sizeable MPV with dimensions of 5217/2024/1812 mm. The wheelbase is 3,205 mm.
The Zeekr 009 offers two interior layout variants: for 6 (2+2+2) and 7 (2+2+3) seats. The car rides on 19 or 20-inch wheels. The curb weight of the Zeekr 009 lies between 2,850 and 2,910 kg, depending on the powertrain setup. The gross weight is 3,420 – 3,485 kg.
The powertrain became the major highlight of the updated Zeekr 009. It adopts the 900V high-voltage system, similar to the previously launched Zeekr 001 liftback. Such a technology helps the car’s battery to discharge more efficiently, supplying more power to electric motors. As a result, the peak power output of the updated Zeekr 009 reached 680 kW (912 hp) with a front e-motor producing 310 kW (416 hp) and the rear generating 370 kW (496 hp).
There is no information about the battery capacity of the Zeekr 009. However, it was revealed that this MPV has a ternary NMC pack produced by the CATL-Geely joint venture. The updated 009 has a top speed of 220 km/h. The 900V system allows the car to reach 12C charging rates, enabling 10 – 80% recharge in 7 minutes. Zeekr currently operates 2,103 charging stations with a single connector providing 1,500 kW. It is on par with the recently launched BYD flash charging stations.
