The Lynk & Co 7 GT plug-in hybrid shooting brake was revealed in China as a more practical counterpart of the previously launched Lynk & Co 07 sedan. This vehicle will enter the market shortly as the interest in NEV wagons is growing in China. Later, the Lynk & Co 7 GT can reach overseas customers.

The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P sedan started sales in China in May 2024, immediately surrounded by rumors about the station wagon (or a shooting brake) variant also coming to the market. In March 2026, this version of the Lynk & Co 07 was seen in China during road tests. On April 1, the company shared that it will be sold under the 7 GT name.

It is easy to see a resemblance between the new car’s name and the all-electric Zeekr 7 GT, which started taking orders in Europe in January 2026. These two models were developed by the Geely-owned Zeekr Technology. It seems that they will represent the same market segment while offering different powertrain variants.

More about the Lynk & Co 7 GT

The Lynk & Co 7 GT was revealed in official photos, wearing camouflage. It aligns with the brand’s distinguishing design language. The car’s front end adopts split headlights with F-shaped daytime running lights and a sizeable air intake. The Lynk & Co 7 GT offers a slightly curved roofline, hidden door handles, and frameless side-view mirrors. Another highlight of the car is the frameless doors.

Designed in Gothenburg, the 7 GT adopts a sleek body outline with a slanted bonnet line and pronounced fenders. The car has a small roof spoiler, a single taillight unit, and a decorative splitter in the rear. The Lynk & Co 7 GT has a LiDAR sensor on the roof and a mm-wave radar in the front bumper. There are also cameras all around the car’s body. The car will be equipped with the G-Pilot H5 assisted driving system with two Nvidia Orin chips for 508 TOPS.

There is no information about the dimensions of the new Lynk & Co 7 GT. However, we expect this model to stay in line with the 07 EM-P sedan. The latter one’s length, width, and height are 4835/1900/1480 mm, respectively. The wheelbase reaches 2,843 mm. For clarity, it is slightly larger than the latest Audi A5. It is worth noting that the new 7 GT could be equipped with an electric-powered tow hook.

The Lynk & Co 7 GT is a plug-in hybrid with a charging port on the driver’s-side rear fender and a fuel cap on the front passenger’s side. It will most likely adopt the same powertrain that the Lynk & Co 07 sedan is currently offering. It comprises a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol-powered engine for 120 kW (161 hp) and an electric motor for 180 kW (241 hp). The combined output is 300 kW (402 hp) and 615 Nm. A 19 kWh battery powers the system.

Shooting brakes are gaining traction in China

Previously, shooting brakes (or station wagons) were forced out of the Chinese market by crossovers. Sport utility vehicles offer an elevated driving position and higher ground clearance. However, things started to turn back together with the rise of the new energy vehicle segment.

Local customers expressed interest in shooting brakes, as such cars offer lower drag coefficient numbers. As a result, their energy & fuel consumption is lower, leading to more substantial range figures. In a short period, a lot of companies launched their station wagons in China. The list of such cars includes the Zeekr 001, the Zeekr 7 GT, the Nio ET5 Touring, the Stelato S9T, the Avatr 06T, and other models. The Lynk & Co 7 GT will become the latest addition to this growing segment.

CarNewsChina previously shared that Volvo took the responsibility for Lynk & Co’s commercial operations across Europe. The Swedish automaker would become the importer and distributor of Lynk & Co-branded EVs in Europe. There is a high chance that the newest Lynk & Co 7 GT will turn into one of the global models, reaching European customers. However, it first needs to launch in China. We expect this car’s domestic price to be around 200,000 yuan (29,040 USD).
