The Chinese Geely Galaxy Starshine 7 plug-in hybrid sedan hit the Silverstone F1 Circuit in the UK as the car nears domestic sales. It began volume production on April 6 with a combined peak power output of 312 kW (418 hp), all-wheel drive, adjustable suspension, and the G-Pilot H3 ADAS.

The Geely Galaxy Starshine 7 is known in China as Xingyao 7. It was first exposed in October 2025 during the domestic homologation process, revealing core specs. On March 17, 2026, the new sedan broke cover in China as it started preparing for the sales launch.

On April 7, Geely Galaxy shared that the Starshine 7 sedan had completed the Silverstone Circuit. This is an iconic track known for holding the first-ever F1 Grand Prix in 1950. It boasts a length of 5.89 km with 18 turns. According to Geely officials, their sedan reached this track as a part of the testing process to adjust driving and handling.

There is no information about the Galaxy Starshine 7’s lap time. However, the Hangzhou-based automaker shared that its sedan passed the Abbey turn at 111.58 km/h and showed a speed of 147.95 km/h at the Copse corner. It is considered a high-speed right handler, named for its proximity to Chapel Copse and Cheese Copse.

The Starshine 7 later cornered the Maggotts turn at 111.67 km/h. This corner is interlinked with Becketts and Chapel curves. The NEV sedan took the final Club corner of the track at 104.01 km/h. Moreover, it sped up from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds on the Hamilton Straight.

We don’t know the final lap time of the Starshine 7. However, we can still make a comparison with the well-known 2018 Honda Civic Type R, which set the best lap time among FWD mass-produced cars. It had a lowest speed of 78 km/h in Club corner. It passed the Abbey turn with speed dropping to 144 km/h. The Civic Type R had a lowest speed of 128 km/h in Copse turn and 135 km/h in Maggotts corner.

The Geely Galaxy Starshine 7 began mass production on April 6 in China, getting ready for the sales start. It is a plug-in hybrid sedan with the e-AWD powertrain. It comprises a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated BHE15-BFN engine with a peak power output of 82 kW (110 hp). The peak output of the system is 312 kW (418 hp) and 526 Nm.

The new sedan adopts two LFP battery options for 18.99 kWh and 28.3 kWh. Its electric range lies between 115 and 165 km under CLTC conditions. Dimensions of the Starshine 7 are 4958/1915/1505 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,852 mm. It is 38 mm longer than the Toyota Camry.

Another highlight of the Starshine 7 is the G-Pilot H3 assisted driving system. It adopts 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 3 mm-wave radars, and a chip for a computing power of 128 TOPS. The new sedan is capable of performing the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function on urban roads and highways. It also supports automatic parking assistance.
