Geely‘s Zeekr has announced that its plug-in hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 8X, will officially launch on April 17. The event will reveal final pricing, and selected variants will be available for immediate delivery upon launch.

The 8X, which opened for pre-sales on March 16, recorded over 10,000 orders within 38 minutes and surpassed 30,000 orders in less than 48 hours.

The pre-sale price range spans from 376,800 yuan (54,600 USD) for the Max variant to 516,800 yuan (74,900 USD) for the top-tier 8X Yaoying edition. Other variants include the Ultra at 396,800 yuan (57,500 USD) and the Ultra+ at 446,800 yuan (64,800 USD).

The Zeekr 8X utilises Geely’s Haohan-S super hybrid architecture with a full-stack 900V high-voltage system. The vehicle features a 2.0T hybrid-specific engine producing 205 kW (275 hp), paired with dual- or triple-motor electric drive configurations.

The range-extender generator delivers 145 kW (194 hp), while the triple-motor variant achieves a peak output of 1,030 kW (1,381 hp). The triple-motor version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.96 seconds, with the dual-motor variant achieving the same sprint in 3.7 seconds.

Equipped with a 70 kWh 6C hybrid battery, the 8X offers a CLTC pure-electric range of 410 km and a combined range of 1,416 km. The 900V 6C ultra-fast charging system enables a 20% to 80% charge in nine minutes at normal temperatures.

The SUV measures 5,100 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,069 mm. The curb weight exceeds 2.8 tons, depending on configuration.

The Haohan AI digital chassis features a 0.2-second transient response and 1,400 N·m of balancing torque, with 80 mm of single-side lift height. The vehicle achieved 83.6 km/h in moose testing on dry roads and 76.3 km/h on wet surfaces. The closed dual-chamber air suspension paired with dual-valve CCD electromagnetic dampers offers an adjustment range of -30 to 50 mm and a maximum ground clearance of 241 mm.

The 8X debuts the new generation Qianli Haohan G-ASD driver assistance system, featuring the top-tier H9 solution: 43 sensors, triple 360° omnidirectional perception, and five LiDAR units. Dual Nvidia Drive Thor-U chips provide 1,400 TOPS of onboard computing power.

The interior accommodates five- or six-seat layouts with adjustable seats, a rear OLED display, and a 29-speaker Naim sound system. Trunk capacity stands at 1,133 L, expandable to 2,200 L.

Positioned in China’s mid-to-large PHEV SUV segment, the 8X competes domestically with the Aito M8 and Li Auto L8, while imported alternatives include the Lexus RX and Volvo XC90. Much of the 8X’s architecture and technology is derived from the Zeekr 9X, which has recorded 33,532 cumulative deliveries since its September 2025 launch.
