AUDI E7X electric SUV surpassed Xiaomi YU7 and Porsche Macan on track

The AUDI E7X electric SUV from the German automaker and SAIC surpassed the Xiaomi YU7 and the Porsche Macan Electric at the Asia’s First Ridge Circuit. It became the fastest SUV on the track, thanks to a 500 kW (670 hp) powertrain and adjustable suspension.

AUDI is a joint brand between Volkswagen and SAIC aimed at Chinese customers. It currently sells a single model in China, which is the E5 Sportback shooting brake launched in August 2025. According to China EV DataTracker, AUDI’s cumulative deliveries reached 7,373 units, with just 303 cars handed over to clients in February. The next step for AUDI is the launch of an electric SUV.

AUDI E7X surpassed Xiaomi YU7 on track

On April 7, AUDI officials shared that the E7X electric crossover became the fastest SUV at the Asia’s First Ridge Circuit. Its domestic name is the Baijun Mountain Ridge Track. It is located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province. Previously, the AUDI E5 Sportback set the third overall result at this circuit.

Asia’s First Ridge Circuit boasts a 2.42-km length with 31 corners, 71 meters of elevation change, and gradients of up to 45 degrees. The AUDI E7X completed a lap with a time of 1 minute and 47.93 seconds. It is the best result among other SUVs, including the Xiaomi YU7 and the Porsche Macan Electric. The fastest crossovers at Asia’s First Ridge Circuit

According to AUDI officials, the E7X set the best time among other SUVs due to a number of reasons. The car adopts a dual-motor AWD with a peak power output of 500 kW (670 hp) and a torque of 800 Nm. It speeds up to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The E7X’s chassis adopts rear-wheel steering, Brembo four-piston brakes, and aluminum suspension.

The brand’s officials said that the E7X accumulated over 3,200 hours of testing across 860 scenarios. It also has Pirelli staggered tires with 285-mm tires in the rear axle. Other highlights of the vehicle include Continental air suspension, ZF continuous damping system, and anti-roll bars.

The AUDI E7X is a large SUV with dimensions of 5049/1997/1710 mm and a wheelbase of 3,060 mm. It is available with 21-inch or 22-inch optional wheels. This SUV adopts the distinguishing design language of the AUDI brand (the one without rings).

The entry-level RWD AUDI E7X comes standard with a single e-motor for 300 kW (402 hp). The AWD variant has a combined power output of 500 kW (670 hp). The top speed is 230 km/h. Two battery options are available: 100 kWh and 109.3 kWh for a 635 – 751 km range. The AUDI E7X will make its debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 on April 24.
