Interior spy images of the updated BYD Atto 3 have surfaced in China, revealing a redesigned cabin that aligns more closely with the brand’s latest Dynasty family design language ahead of its expected launch around May.
Unified interior direction
The exposed interior suggests BYD is moving the Atto 3 toward a more standardised design approach seen across newer Dynasty models. Compared with the current version’s distinctive styling elements, the updated cabin appears more restrained, with a cleaner layout and simplified surfaces.
The centre console and dashboard structure indicate a shift toward horizontal layering, a design trend increasingly adopted across BYD’s recent releases. This approach typically emphasises a wider visual stance and improved spatial perception inside the cabin.
While full specifications of the infotainment system and materials have not been disclosed, the redesign points to greater consistency within BYD’s lineup, as the automaker continues consolidating interior themes across its Dynasty series.

Powertrain and charging remain key upgrades
Alongside the interior update, previously disclosed regulatory data shows the Atto 3 will offer two battery options, rated at 57.545 kWh and 68.547 kWh. These deliver CLTC driving ranges of 540 km and 630 km.
The model is expected to adopt BYD’s second-generation Blade battery and to support flash charging. Reported figures indicate charging from 10% to 70% in five minutes and up to 97% in nine minutes. At temperatures as low as -30°C, the charging time increases by approximately three minutes.
A rear-mounted electric motor will be available in 200 kW and 240 kW variants, reflecting a transition to a rear-wheel-drive platform.
Exterior and platform changes
The updated Atto 3 also grows in size, measuring 4665 mm in length and 2770 mm in wheelbase. Exterior revisions include a redesigned front fascia, slimmer headlights, and a full-width rear lighting element integrated into a decorative panel.
The shift to a rear-wheel-drive architecture marks a significant mechanical change for the model, aligning it with newer EV platforms within BYD’s portfolio.

Market context
According to China EV DataTracker, BYD Atto 3 sales in China reached 10,675 units in the first quarter of 2026, representing a 73.2% year-on-year decline. Monthly volumes have fallen to around 2,000 units in early 2026 after previously exceeding 10,000 units.
Launch timing
Chinese media reports indicate the updated Atto 3 could be officially unveiled around May, with a public debut likely at an upcoming Beijing Auto Show. BYD has not confirmed a final launch date.
