The Voyah Taishan X8 full-size new-energy crossover with a 5.2-meter body and 657 hp received 20,000 orders 20 hours after its presales had started in China. Priced at 302,900 yuan (44,380 USD), this five-seat SUV aims to become the brand’s bestselling model.

Voyah is a high-end brand under Dongfeng that also sells outside China. According to China EV DataTracker, Voyah delivered 31,018 vehicles in Q1 2026, up 18.5% Year-Over-Year. Its current model line includes five cars: the Free, the Courage, the Taishan crossovers, the Passion sedan, and the Dream minivan. On April 22, the Taishan X8 SUV started presales in China.

The new model became available for orders with two powertrain variants. The Taishan X8 PHEV has a price range of 302,900 – 369,900 yuan (44,380 – 54,200 USD). Its all-electric counterpart costs between 349,900 and 389,900 yuan (51,270 – 57,130 USD). For clarity, the flagship Voyah Taishan six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV starts at 379,900 yuan (55,665 USD) domestically.

According to Voyah officials, the new Taishan X8 got 20,000 orders in 20 hours in China. Interestingly, the car got 15,000 orders in the first 53 minutes after the presales had begun. These are refundable orders. So, the actual sales volume of the Taishan X8 will most likely be lower.
