The Xiaomi YU7 GT crossovers with a peak power of 990 hp are piling up at the factory ahead of the official debut scheduled for this month. At the same time, Xiaomi officials explained why the YU7 GT performance crossover isn’t called Ultra, similar to the previously launched SU7 Ultra electric sedan. The new model will debut in late May with 738 kW (990 hp) and a top speed of 300 km/h.

Xiaomi shared that their Ultra line resembles the peak performance cars focused on track usage. The brand’s officials highlighted that the SU7 Ultra sedan became the third fastest car at Nürburgring. Boasting the combined power output of 1,138 kW (1,526 hp), it speeds up to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and has a top speed of 359 km/h.

GT cars, on the other hand, aren’t focused on track driving, aiming at long-distance driving. Therefore, the Xiaomi YU7 GT is positioned as a “sports car-level SUV for travel.” It reportedly balances performance with luxury, comfort, and long electric range. We will remind you that the YU7 GT has a 101.7 kWh battery pack, capable of up to 705 km under CLTC conditions. In contrast, the SU7 Ultra packs a 93.7 kWh for 620 km.

Xiaomi has been testing the YU7 GT crossover at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The new car adopts a sporty exterior with a pronounced front splitter, a rear diffuser, and bigger brake calipers. It rides on 21-inch wheels and has 10 sets of through-air channels. Other features include air suspension, rear axle torque vectoring, and Brembo-branded carbon-ceramic brakes.

Based on photos leaked online, all of the YU7 GT crossovers spotted at the factory have a burgundy exterior color. We assume these models are intended for display purposes in Xiaomi Auto stores. They will shortly enter showrooms across China.

Briefly about the Xiaomi YU7 GT

The Xiaomi YU7 GT is a sporty five-seat crossover with dimensions of 5015/2007/1597 mm. The wheelbase reaches 3,000 mm. For clarity, it is 42 mm longer, 21 mm narrower, and 8 mm higher than the Ferrari Purosangue SUV.

The YU7 GT adopts a front electric motor with a peak power of 288 kW (386 hp) and a rear e-motor for 450 kW (604 hp). The combined peak power output of this crossover reaches 738 kW (990 hp). This combination is powered by a 101.7 kWh battery pack for 705 km (CLTC conditions). The car’s zero-to-hundred acceleration time has yet to be revealed.
