Neta electric vehicle caught on fire while driving, not the first time in China
On April 1, a Neta electric vehicle caught on fire in the street in Zhejiang, China. On the day of the incident, the owner of the car was driving when he suddenly heard abnormal noises and then found the car starting to smoke. Luckily, he stopped and got out of the car quickly before any injury occurred. Currently, the investigation is still ongoing and Neta has not released any official statement.
This incident raised public concerns about the safety of Neta vehicles. This is not the first time a Neta vehicle has caught on fire.
In February of this year, in Shenzhen, China, a Neta S spontaneously ignited while charging. According to bystanders, it took about 1 minute from smoking to burning. Furthermore, in April last year, a Neta U spontaneously ignited in the garage of a residential area in Guangdong, China, and thick smoke filled the entire underground garage.

On April 2, Neta announced that it delivered 10,087 vehicles in March. As of March 2023, Neta has delivered a total of 274,226 vehicles. While its sales are rising, numerous quality problems have begun to appear, such as the inability to charge, connectivity failures, and electrical failures. Earlier this year, in the 2023 New Year’s greetings, Fang Yunzhou, the founder of Neta Auto, said the company “is still in the start-up period and the goal is to live with high quality.” Will Neta mark its founder’s words?
