Recently, Great Wall Motos released the official images of its brand-new upcoming Haval Raptor (猛龙) SUV. Its price is expected to cost less than 200,000 yuan (27,800 USD) and will appear at the Chengdu Auto Show later this month.

From the official images, Haval Raptor has a square shape with hardcore characteristics. Positioned as a plug-in hybrid compact urban SUV, the size of the Raptor measures 4680/1916/1822mm, and the wheelbase measures 2738mm. In addition, the external spare tire adds another 120mm to the car’s length, making it 4800mm long.

Haval Raptor will offer two power versions: low-power and high-power, provided by Great Wall Motor’s Hi4 plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and dual motors, and powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries. The low-power version has a combined power of 278 kW and a battery with a capacity of 19.09 kWh, giving it a pure electric cruising range (NEDC conditions) of 102 km. The high-power version has a combined power of 282 kW, matched with a battery with a capacity of 27.54 kWh, giving it a pure electric cruising range (NEDC conditions) of 145 km. Both versions have a combined system torque of 750 Nm.

The front grille has a rectangular design, decorated with blackened horizontal bars that come with rivets. The silver Haval logo is located in the center of the grille, making the car highly recognizable. The LED headlights on both sides adopt a circular design, giving the car a retro vibe.

At the rear, the taillight group has a vertical layout, and of course, the external spare tire is not absent, and the tire cover has also been blackened, further enhancing the vehicle’s hard-core off-road characteristics.

Inside, the cockpit is all black, including the black center console, black leather-covered seats with black stitching, and black carbon fiber material on the co-pilot door trim. The specific interior specifications have not been revealed at this time.
