Geely has officially revealed the Galaxy A7 EM-i, a new mid-size plug-in hybrid sedan under its Galaxy sub-brand. Highlighting fuel efficiency and long-range capability, the model boasts an impressively low fuel consumption of just over 2L per 100 km when operating without electric charge and a total range exceeding 2,100 km.

Positioned as a compact alternative to the Galaxy Star 8 EM-i, the Galaxy A7 EM-i measures 4,918 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. The car is expected to target the competitive 100,000 yuan (approx. 14,000 USD) price segment to attract value-focused consumers seeking efficient hybrid sedans.

The A7 EM-i adopts a modern yet assertive exterior design. At the front, a full-width LED light strip connects sharp, angular headlamps, complemented by aggressive lower air intakes that emphasise a sporty presence. The profile features sculpted character lines, turbine-style multi-spoke wheels, and gloss black window trim. While it retains traditional door handles instead of pop-out units, the design enhances practicality. At the rear, a full-width taillight and a subtle ducktail spoiler add a touch of dynamism.

The Galaxy A7 EM-i features a refreshed cabin layout with a dual-spoke, multifunction steering wheel, a large digital instrument cluster, and a floating centre infotainment display. The centre console integrates user-friendly physical controls, including a rotary dial for media, tactile buttons for air conditioning, and cupholders with a flip-up cover for added convenience during driving.

The Galaxy A7 EM-i is powered by a 1.5-litre gasoline engine paired with an electric motor in a plug-in hybrid setup. The engine delivers a maximum output of 112 horsepower. While full system specifications have yet to be officially confirmed, the layout likely mirrors the larger Star 8 EM-i, which combines a 238 hp electric motor and a total system output of up to 350 hp, mated to a single-speed DHT transmission.

The A7 EM-i will offer two electric-only CLTC range variants: one with 60 km and the other with 130 km of EV range. Depending on the battery configuration, the total CLTC combined range reaches 1,500 km and 1,600 km, respectively, though the official press release hints at an even longer variant achieving over 2,100 km. A launch date and pricing are expected to be announced soon.
