Onvo, the mass-market sub-brand under Nio, has revealed the production version of its L90 electric SUV, which is set to launch in the third quarter of 2025. Positioned as a large family SUV, the L90 combines a bold design, advanced powertrain, and a spacious interior to compete in China’s increasingly crowded EV segment.

The L90 features a squared-off profile, a closed front grille, and split-level LED headlights. Blacked-out trim and flush door handles contribute to a clean, aerodynamic look. At the rear, a full-width lightbar integrates the “ONVO” lettering, while pixel-style vertical lamps and a high-mounted brake light emphasise its tech-forward identity. The SUV rides on 21-inch multi-spoke wheels.

Inside, the cabin follows Onvo’s minimalist family design with premium upgrades. The dashboard features extended leather wrapping, raised woodgrain trim, and chrome accents. A floating central touchscreen, large head-up display, dual 50W wireless phone chargers, and hidden storage compartments reinforce the L90’s high-tech, family-oriented appeal. Comfort features include a built-in refrigerator, an upgraded audio-visual system, and flexible seating for six or seven passengers.

The L90 shares its powertrain with the luxury-focused  Nio ET9 (see specs). The rear-wheel-drive version delivers 340 kW (462 hp), while the dual-motor AWD setup offers a combined 440 kW (598 hp). Built on a 900V high-voltage architecture, the L90 supports ultra-fast DC charging and comes standard with an 85 kWh battery pack. According to CLTC figures, the RWD model consumes 14.5 kWh per 100 km and provides up to 605 km of range, while the AWD version consumes 15.4 kWh per 100 km with a 570 km range.
Weight-saving measures improve both efficiency and handling.

Depending on the configuration, the L90 weighs between 2,250 and 2,385 kg. Key reductions include a 50% lighter high-voltage wiring harness, 24.3% lighter hollow stabiliser bars, and 21.8% lighter integrated suspension components. The vehicle achieves a lightweight coefficient of 2.35.

Onvo users can access nearly 2,000 battery swap stations across China, 2,438 branded chargers, and over 57,000 third-party charging points. This infrastructure supports fast charging and quick battery swapping, minimising downtime and easing range concerns for urban and long-distance drivers.

Expected to be priced between 220,000 and 250,000 yuan (approx. 30,300–34,500 USD), the L90 will also offer a battery lease option, bringing the entry price below 200,000 yuan (approx. 27,600 USD).
