On June 29, Leapmotor opened its B01 compact sedan for pre-sale, with a total of five trims at a price range of 105,800 – 135,800 yuan (14,760 – 18,950 USD). The B01 is the first pure electric sedan under the Leapmotor B series to built based on the LEAP 3.5 architecture and offers 550 km and 650 km ranges. The official launch and delivery will be in July.

The Leapmotor boasts a drag coefficient of 0.197 Cd and a fastback angle of 17.2°, according to tbe official. The length, width, and height are 4770/1880/1490 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2735 mm.

Two of the five trims come with a roof lidar as a part of the 27 sensors onboard the vehicle to realize 26 advanced driving assistance capabilities, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8650 intelligent driving chip. The capabilities include highway and urban navigation on autopilot as well as parking assist.

At the same time, the Leapmotor B01 is equipped with the 5nm automotive-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip that powers the Leapmotor OS 4.0 Plus cockpit system, which features an integrated AI voice assistant. Additionally, there is an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch 2.5K central control screen.

There are six “magic expansion holes” in front of the co-pilot, which can support items such as a small table and mobile phone holder.

The standard trunk capacity is 460 L with an additional 70 L of space under the trunk and 26 storage areas throughout the interior.

As a RWD, the Leapmotor B01 is equipped with a rear electric motor that outputs either 132 kW (177 hp) or 160 kW (215 hp), depending on the trims; and combined with 56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, offering a range of 550 km and 650 km, respectively. Under fast charging, it takes 18 minutes to recharge from 30% to 80%.
