BYD Song L GT is a new sports variant to the Song L SUV lineup
BYD is adding a new variant to its Song L SUV product lineup – the Song L GT all-electric SUV – built based on the Song L EV with more sporty details. The Song L will be available in RWD and AWD.


The BYD Song L GT largely continues the design style of the Song L EV in appearance. The front bumper has been redesigned to increase the area of the black trim and a black trim has also been added between the headlights. The entire series is expected to come with a roof lidar radar as standard.
For reference, the 2025 Song L EV currently offers two advanced driving assistance system packages. the “God’s Eye B” that ultilizes a lidar along with other sensors to realize functions such as high-speed navigation and city navigation on autopilot and the entry-level “God’s Eye C” that relies mainly on a three-camera cluster to realize only high-speed navigation.

A new “GT” logo is added to the lower rear right to highlight the car’s identity while the taillight and electric wing are still available. For reference, the Song L EV’s electric wing can reduce energy consumption by 0.88 kWh per 100 km, according to the official.
The length, width, and height of the BYD Song L GT are 4840/1950/1560 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2930 mm, which are the same dimensions as that of the Song L EV. The curb weight is 2,380 kg.

Additionally, the new car is equipped with 19-inch or 20-inch rims of various styles, and provides red brake calipers to further highlight its sporty characteristics.
For the powertrain, the RWD will be offered in low and power versions. The low power version is equipped with a 170 kW (228 hp) electric motor (model TZ200XYS), which is an increase from the current 150 kW (201 hp); while the high power version remains the same with a 230 kW (308 hp) electric motor (model TZ200XYT). Furthermore, the maximum power of the front electeic motor of the AWD is increased from 150 kW to 160 kW (215 hp), while the maximum power of the rear electric motor remains at 230 kW.
The capacity of the Blade battery pack onboard the vehicle has not been revealed at this time. For reference, the Song L EV is equipped with 71.8 kWh and 81.04 kWh Blade battery packs, providing a CLTC cruising range of 550 km and 662 km, respectively.
