Zeekr has issued a formal response to recent Chinese media reports alleging the brand had engaged in an improper “zero-kilometre used car” practice, inflating its sales. The company claims that the accusations are inaccurate and that all vehicles in question were unsold display models that legally remain classified as new cars.

According to Zeekr, all of the vehicles referenced in the reports were showroom display units that had never been registered, invoiced, or sold to individual customers. Although the cars were covered by mandatory traffic insurance during their time on display, the company stated that they had never undergone new car registration or received retail invoices and, therefore, remained legally classified as new, unregistered vehicles.

Zeekr emphasised that it opposes any form of behaviour that disrupts fair market order, including the resale of vehicles falsely labelled as new. The company noted that its current practice of selling showroom display vehicles at a discount – typically after a storage period of three to five months – is consistent with industry norms. It further clarified that these vehicles are sold with full disclosure of their display history, and buyers retain all rights of a first-owner new car, including warranties and user benefits.

In response to the public concern, Zeekr confirmed it has established an internal task force to review terminal-level sales practices mentioned in the media coverage. The company stated that it would take corrective actions as necessary to enhance the vehicle purchasing experience and maintain transparency for consumers.

Zeekr stated that it clearly labels vehicle status on online order pages to ensure customers are informed before making a purchase. It reiterated that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any activities that may infringe upon consumer rights or violate principles of honest business conduct.

The company also expressed appreciation for public feedback, stating it will continue to enhance its communications and after-sales services to address customer concerns. Zeekr concluded by reaffirming its commitment to transparency and said that it would continue to collaborate with the broader industry to promote a fair and sustainable business environment for new energy vehicles.
