The six-seat Tesla Model Y L electric fastback SUV started arriving at service centers across China as the American automaker started building up the customer base for this BEV by sharing a preview video. The Model Y L boasts a length of 4,976 mm (195.9 inches), a peak power output of 340 kW (456 hp), and up to 751 km of range.

The Tesla Model Y is a long-anticipated larger variant of the regular Model Y. It was exposed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) during the homologation process in the Middle Kingdom. On August 18, Tesla shared a preview video of the Model Y L. On the same day, photos of the elongated SUV arriving at service centers across China appeared on Weibo social media.

Photos of Tesla Model Y L batches arriving at service centers across China started circulating online on August 18. An image shared by a Chinese automotive blogger, Delu Ai Kaiche, shows the Model Y and the Model Y L on a car carrier. This shot clearly shows that the new SUV is 179 mm longer than its regular counterpart. The elongated BEV was covered with black protection film. The same car was spotted parked next to a Tesla Service Center.

Weibo accounts Qichezhi and Diandong Zhishi shared photos of car carriers loaded with Tesla Model Y L crossovers allegedly heading to Tesla stores across China as demonstration vehicles. A Leixing Pindao automotive blogger shared a photo of the Model Y L without camouflage. Finished in a silver shade, this SUV has a ducktail spoiler and fuzzy wheels with aerodynamic covers.

Inside, the Tesla Model Y L has a distinguishing three-spoke steering wheel with a turn signal stalk behind it. There is also a large floating screen in the center console. The elongated SUV has relatively wide A-pillars and a small rear-view mirror.

Tesla hinted that the Model Y L will enter the Chinese market soon, as it shared a preview video. It showed some exterior details of the upcoming model.
