Shangjie H5 from SAIC & Huawei reveals interior ahead of presales start scheduled for Aug 25
The Shangjie H5 new energy crossover from SAIC and Huawei revealed its interior in China. This model will start presales on August 25 with a starting price under 200,000 yuan (27,845 USD). The H5 will offer BEV and EREV powertrain variants.
Shangjie is the fifth brand under the Huawei umbrella. Its cars will be sold by the Chinese IT giant’s domestic car sales network called HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance). Huawei doesn’t build cars on its own. Instead, it cooperates with state-owned automakers (Seres, Chery, BAIC, JAC, and SAIC). Shangjie is the joint project between Huawei and SAIC. Its first model is the H5 crossover, aimed at young buyers.

The interior of the Shangjie H5 is finished in beige color called “Beautiful Apricot”. Its overall design aligns with other HIMA models. It has a large floating screen in the center console powered by the HarmonyOS operating system. An LCD instrument cluster sits behind a three-spoke D-shaped steering wheel. This panel shows the EREV variant of the H5 crossover has 925 km of mixed range.

The Shangjie H5 has almost no physical buttons. Its gear shifter sits on the steering column. The H5’s center tunnel adopts a wireless phone charging pad, two cup holders, and an armrest with a roomy compartment. The Shangjie H5 has a large panoramic glass roof with an automatic sunshade. Other highlights of this SUV include a camera on the A-pillar and the front seats covered with perforated leather.
The rear seats of the H5 adopt three headrests and an armrest with a couple of cup holders. A fine feature of the car’s cabin is beige seatbelts. The front seats of the Shangjie H5 have the Huawei Link attachment point for mobile phones and tablets. This SUV also adopts the Huawei sound system.

The Shangjie H5 will start presales on August 25 with the market launch scheduled for September. It is a mid-size SUV with minimalistic styling. Its dimensions are 4780/1910/1657 mm with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. It is 10 mm shorter than the standard Tesla Model Y.
The Shangjie H5 offers two powertrain variants: BEV and EREV. The entry-level pure electric modification of this SUV has a 150 kW (201 hp) e-motor powered by an LFP battery from CATL. This car also has a more powerful BEV option with a 180 kW (241 hp) electric motor and a CATL-made ternary NMC pack. The top-trim H5 BEV can run up to 655 km on a single charge under CLTC conditions.
The EREV variant of the Shangjie H5 has the same 150 kW electric motor as the BEV version. However, this model also has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated internal combustion engine that acts as a generator under the hood. Its peak power reaches 72 kW (97 hp) while the fuel consumption with a depleted battery is 5.19 liters per 100 km. Its CLTC mixed range reaches 1,300 km. This SUV can drive 230 km (CLTC) in electric mode, thanks to a 32.6 kWh LFP battery.
