All-new MG4 EV launches under 10,000 USD, semi-solid-state battery pricing also unveiled

MG, a brand under SAIC, officially launched its all-new MG4 pure electric vehicle today at the Chengdu Auto Show 2025. The compact EV is available in five trims with prices ranging from 68,800 yuan (9,560 USD) to 102,800 yuan (14,290 USD). The 102,800 yuan (14,290 USD) version is the semi-solid-state battery Anxin Edition, which is said to be delivered within this year.

Built on SAIC’s E3 pure electric architecture, the MG4 is positioned as a compact pure electric vehicle. MG4 has a CLTC range up to 530 km and 30%-80% charging capabilities in 20 minutes.

The new MG4’s exterior features new projector headlights, a segmented honeycomb grille, and side air ducts with sharp front corners and an illuminated MG logo. The car Measures 4395mm in length, 1842mm in width, and 1551mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2750mm.

The interior is dominated by a digital instrument cluster and a central infotainment screen, with some physical buttons retained. Depending on the trim, the MG4 will feature screens in three sizes: a 10.25-inch display (720P resolution), a 12.8-inch display (1080P resolution), or a premium 15.6-inch display (2.5K resolution). Powering the infotainment is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, enabling the MG x OPPO Smart Connectivity System.

The top-tier trim elevates driver assistance with 12 ultrasonic radars, four 360-degree surround view cameras, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a rear camera. These are powered by the Horizon Journey J6e chip, enabling high-speed NOA (Navigation On Assist) capabilities such as autonomous lane change assist, lane keeping assist, turn signal-activated lane changes, and intelligent parking.

The MG4 features a six-in-one integrated electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 120 kW (161 hp) and a peak torque of 250 Nm, allowing for a top speed of 160 km/h. The vehicle is equipped with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, available in two capacities: 42.8 kWh and 53.9 kWh. These provide CLTC-rated cruising ranges of 437 km and 530 km, respectively. Both battery options support fast charging, achieving a 30%-80% charge in 20 minutes.
