The Honda Concept S and Concept C (pic) debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. Both cars were designed by Honda in Japan but the Concept C had a Guangzhou-Honda badge on the back, and the Concept S a Dongfeng-Honda badge. Those are Honda’s two joint-ventures in China, and both cars are intended for the Chinese car market and other upcoming markets in Asia.

Honda Concept C

The Concept C, with Guangzhou-Honda badge, previews a new mid-size luxury sedan that will hit the market around 2013. It is slightly bigger than the Honda Accord, currently the biggest China-made Honda. Honda didn’t say what was under the bonnet, likely nothing, but to sell in China it needs powerful 4-cylinder patrol engines or even better a V6. Honda said they were considering a hybrid as well, those however are very unpopular on the Chinese market.

Honda Concept S

The Concept S, with Dongfeng-Honda badge, is a hatchback-wagon sorta thing that previews a new hybrid that has to compete with the Toyota Prius Wagon. The Prius Wagon however is currently not sold on the Chinese market and will likely never. The Concept S is slightly smaller than the Concept C. Honda didn’t say anything about production, but did say its design was inspired by dragons. We believe…
